Abstract

The article considers informational violence as an active influence on the consciousness of an individual, which is carried out without his consent and violates his informational freedom. General mechanisms of informational violence are outlined: informational pressure, distortion of information, concealment of information, illegal obtaining of information. It is noted that the institution of higher education is responsible for creating conditions for the development of media competencies of student youth, their observance of ethical norms in the social network, which will help preserve their psychological health, ensure physical and social well-being. Students have insufficiently developed legal and psychological awareness of information that is prohibited and may be dangerous to health.
