The article examines language, speech and communicative competence of law students as one of the components of the professional culture of the future specialist. Today, in the conditions of martial law, without knowledge of the norms of the modern Ukrainian literary language, without mastering the strategies and tactics of language behavior, without skills related to speech activity, without communication in accordance with the situation and stylistic differentiation, etc., it is impossible to speak of the presence of relevant competencies of a student as of a future highly qualified specialist, because the conditions in which students find themselves create certain challenges and obstacles to the acquisition of relevant professional skills, and therefore to the development of language, speech and communication competences. The greatest challenges of today in the conditions of martial law are identified and ways to overcome them are proposed: creation of safe conditions for all participants of the educational process; ensuring continuity and equal access to education, taking into account the situation in each territory separately; restoration of damaged educational institutions; ensuring compliance with students’ rights to education according to Ukrainian curricula and textbooks, as well as teachers’ rights to work; internationalization of education and science of Ukraine, their integration into the European educational space; promotion and support of the formation of an international coalition for the development of Ukrainian education and science.
