Professional training of future primary school teachers is impossible without formation of their health preserving competence, which largely depends on the determination of the levels of their professional competences and corresponding criteria. Assessment of the levels of professional competences of a future teacher is subjective and reflects the standpoint of the researcher of the given problem.
The article describes the process of experimental verification of pedagogical conditions for the formation of health preserving competence of future primary school teachers in the process of professional training in a pedagogical institution of higher education.
The components (value and motivational, cognitive, operational and technological, component of the teacher's professional and personal qualities) and criteria for the formation of appropriate levels of health preserving competence of future primary school teachers are revealed. Three levels of the development of their health preserving competence have been determined: low, medium, and high.
It is defined that health preserving competence develops from one level to another, and its verification is carried out in accordance with the structure, indicators and criteria for determining the levels of formation of its components.
