Abstract

The article presents a comparative analysis of the structures, content and significance of the syllabus and EMC of the general course of physics in the section Optics, developed for students majoring in "Physics and Astronomy". Based on it, it is concluded that if the EMC is supplemented with parts of the syllabus, which are absent in the EMC, then without the slightest harm to the organization of the educational process, you can do without the syllabus. A new (extended) EMC structure is proposed.
