The article describes the scientific aspects of methodical work with pedagogical staff, the issue that is relevant in pedagogical theory and practice. It highlights the influence of the methodical work on the development of professional competence and maintenance of teachers’ good professional health in preschool educational institutions. It points out the important components of teacher’s professional competence influencing the effectiveness of pedagogical activity and the quality of the educational process in preschool educational institutions. The article reveals the essence of such main functions of methodical work as activity, subject, content, developmental, educational, prognostic, accompanying, researching, analytical, generalizing, expert, facilitative and controlling ones. It emphasizes the function that is aimed to maintain good professional health of pedagogical staff in preschool educational institutions.
It proves the necessity to develop a special model of methodical work, the key purpose of which is to maintain good professional health, to protect the pedagogical staff from stress at work and to develop teachers' readiness for recreational activity as one of the pedagogical conditions that is relevant nowadays.
The article analyzes the content and the essence of such concepts as: "methodical work", "professional competence", "maintaining good health" and "recreation".
