Abstract
The article is devoted to the founding of the embossment of a dragon in 1974 in the Assumption Church of the XVIth century (Krylos village, Halych district, Ivano-Frankivsk region), built of stone blocks of the once-famous Assumption Cathedral of the XIIth century. The white-stone carving dates from the beginning of the XIIth century since it apparently adorned some fragment of the interior of the once-famous Halych temple. It was made on-site in Halych. However, the functional purpose of this embossment is still beyond the scientific discernment.
